Jonathan Elwes
2021
Bill Hall
2019
Mark Coreth
The Squadron has strong links with Airborne Forces and, started by Alan Curtis, over the years has taken part in a number of fundraising events for Parachute Regiment charities, including presenting a poignard to the Red Devils freefall team which is now presented to team members on achieving the milestone of 1,000 parachute descents.
At the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Arnhem in 2019, the spectacular Airborne Initiative trophy was given to the Royal Air Squadron by the Parachute Regiment in recognition of the ongoing relationship between the Squadron and the Regiment. The trophy is to be presented to an RAS member, or group of members, who have shown initiative. Squadron members present at Arnhem in 2019 were Simon Ames, Andrew Holman-West and Gerry Humphreys.
In 2019 the first presentation of the Airborne Initiative Trophy was to Mark Coreth in recognition of his trip to the Holy Land.
