The Royal Air Squadron Sword of Honour was handed over to the South African Air Force by Mr Alan Curtis, on behalf of the Air Chief Marshall on 19 June 2003.
The Sword of Honour is presented to the Candidate Officer with the best overall achievement in the following aspects while on the Officers Formative Course at the South African Air Force College in Pretoria – Officer Potential, Academic Achievement, Leadership and Fitness.
The Sword of Honour is kept in the office of the Chief of the South African Air Force. The sword is a floating accolade handed to the best overall candidate, and the recipient will receive a commemorative coin donated by the Royal Air Squadron in recognition of their achievement.
