Bletchley & Spring Dinner

Date

April 2019

Location

Bletchley

On Friday, 26 April Christopher Moore organised a very interesting visit to Bletchley, the wartime home of the British Code and Cypher School. Christopher led the team who undertook the restoration of this historic place which played such an important part in WWII. Members were given a tour of Bletchley – the house, museum, and exhibitions in various huts. The visit ended with lunch in the café before departing onwards to the Spring Dinner.

The Spring Dinner was held at Eastnor Castle a 19th-century Regency Gothic Revival castle and home of the Hervey Bathurst family. Drinks were served in the Gothic Drawing Room and the Octagon room and a delicious dinner followed in the Great Hall for over 80 members and their guests.
